Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to The Harwich and Dovercourt High School website.  I hope it gives you a flavour of our school, the things we believe in and our hopes for the young people in our care.

I recently joined HDHS and feel fortunate to be working with the experienced and highly committed Leadership Team.  HDHS has highly committed staff and amazing students.  Our vision is to empower our young people to be the best that they can be.

Our school is characterised by a positive learning environment and excellent relationships.  We believe that children are more likely to be successful if they work within a secure environment that supports them and allows them to grow and develop.

We aim to ensure our young people leave school not only with the best examination results possible but also with the skills and attributes they need to go on to success in their adult lives.  Our students have excellent attitudes and a real enthusiasm for their studies, we encourage them to adopt a growth mindset and to learn from the challenges they face.  All students are expected to reach their potential.  As a school we take a real pride in their achievements and celebrate their successes.
