Progress Leader; A quick word:
Miss Bradshaw - "The Year 7 students have demonstrated an impressive commitment to their learning. It is fantastic to see them realise that the efforts they are putting into their academic progress, behaviour, and attendance are truly paying off. I firmly believe that linking hard work with tangible achievements makes the upcoming December ATL (Attitude to Learning) Rewards so much sweeter. Congratulations, Year 7! Keep up the good work and keep striving for excellence!"
Miss Garcia - "This half term, our year 8 students have shown an impressive level of maturity and resilience. I have really enjoyed dropping into lessons and seeing such positivity and determination in the classroom. As we get closer to Christmas, we’re excited to celebrate some of our students who have shown an amazing attitude to learning. They will be watching home alone at our local cinema. We’re really proud of all our year 8s and can’t wait to finish the term with plenty of festive spirit!"
Mrs Honeyman - "I would like to take this opportunity to say how incredibly proud I am of so many of our Year 9 students following the latest Attitude to Learning (ATL) data drop. The vast majority of the year group have demonstrated consistent effort, positivity, and a genuine commitment to their studies throughout the term. Because of this, most of the year will be joining us on our well-deserved reward trip to the cinema in the final week of term - a fantastic celebration of their hard work. In addition to the trip, we will also be hosting a Christmas Quiz for those students who have shown such an outstanding attitude to learning. This will be another chance to recognise their achievements and to end the term with some well-earned fun. I would also like to extend a special congratulations to our two Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners this term: Lliam Peros and Audrey Tyrrell. Both students were nominated for their dedication, resilience, and the exceptional example they set within our school community. They are shining role models, and we are incredibly proud of them—well done to both. Well done, Year 9—keep up the fantastic work. I look forward to celebrating even more of your successes as the year continues."
Mr Day - "It has been a great half term for the year group with the visit of our ex-students who are at Medicine School and part of International Search and Rescue, the attendance is up on the same time for last year and we have a large cohort of students invited to the rewards trip when we visit the Electric Palace. We also had crowned a National Champion for Latin Dance in Nanci Todd who won her event in Blackpool. We look forward to further visits as the year progresses from ex-students from various industries who will aim to inspire our young people."
Mrs Abbott - "The Year 11 pastoral team are very impressed with how well the students have adjusted to the new exam hall. They have demonstrated maturity and thoughtfulness in adapting to this big change and the PPE exam season has run smoothly. We are excited to see the results of this latest round of PPE exams and to celebrate the successes with the students. Lots of our cohort have already secured the offer of places on a wide range of courses Post-16 at a variety of different colleges and sixth form providers. As Head of Year I am very much looking forward to writing references requests and sharing the very best from our students with their new potential educational establishments."
Thank you as always for taking the time to support your young person with their education everyday, we are all in this together and all have the same end goal for our young people to be healthy and successful. Maybe you could ask them about something they have done at school that is mentioned in this bulletin, or something they are looking forward to that is coming up? We know good character and conversation skills being modelled from all adults in their life is always a positive thing for them. If you have any ideas or questions please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly.
Kind regards,
Charly Doyle
