Return to School - September 2025
Dear Parent/Carer,
Here are a few bits of information for you to keep hold of through the summer holiday.
We will have a uniform trial upon our return in September. For the first term, we will trial allowing plain black, smart trainers to be worn as an alternative to black school shoes. This is because we appreciate that a number of our students walk considerable distances in the morning to come to school, and as long as they have no light coloured markings on them which identify them as trainers, then usually a plain black smart pair of trainers normally go unnoticed with our current uniform policy. I will report back on this trial at the end of the term.
We expect the weather to be pleasant in September but not unseasonably hot and so the Heatwave Order will no longer be in place and full school uniform is expected of all students. Please can I remind you that this includes absolutely no sweatshirts or hoodies to be worn at any time on site and shirts must be tucked in and blazers worn. We are extremely proud of how our students look in their uniform, as I am sure you are too. Most importantly, uniform is a great leveller: it shows that we matter and regardless of our financial situation, students never feel less than anyone else. As ever, if you have any difficulties in acquiring the uniform, please contact your new year team and we will support you. Here are the year team contacts:

A message from Mr Simpson:
As we look ahead to the new academic year starting in September, I want to highlight the importance of regular and punctual attendance from day one. A strong start sets the tone for the year ahead – academically, socially, and emotionally.
Every day in school matters. Even a few days missed at the beginning of term can disrupt learning and make it harder for students to settle into routines, engage with new content, and build positive relationships with staff and peers. Consistent attendance supports not just academic progress but also confidence, wellbeing, and a sense of belonging in the school community.
We understand that there may be times when absence is unavoidable. However, we ask that all non-essential absences – including holidays – are avoided during term time, especially at the start of the year when students are establishing their footing.
Please help us give your child the best possible start to the new school year by ensuring they are ready, prepared, and present on the first day of term in September. We are excited to welcome them back and continue working together to support their growth and success.
Mr Simpson, Attendance Champion
I look forward to beginning the new school year with you and I wish you a restful and enjoyable summer.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Finch
