Teacher Training

Harwich and Dovercourt High School offers initial teacher training in collaboration with North Essex Teacher Training (NETT). Follow this link www.nett.org.uk to the NETT website to read more about the application and training process which is administered through the University and Colleges Admissions Services (UCAS) https://www.ucas.com/.

Harwich and Dovercourt High School is able to support trainee teachers in almost all subject areas and successful completion of initial teacher training will lead to the award of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We have experienced mentors and trainers across all faculty areas and as a school we believe strongly that this is a learning environment for all its stakeholders. As such we welcome trainee teachers and support them throughout their time on the staff.
For non-salaried trainees the PGCE qualification is awarded as well as QTS. Salaried trainees have the option of gaining a PGCE.
