During January Year 12 and 13 Geography students visited the city of Liverpool to carry out fieldwork. They studied the rejuvenation in the city, looking at various schemes in Anfield and Toxteth; from selling homes for £1, to funding through council schemes.
Harwich and Dovercourt High School u16 hockey team, travelled away to Colne Community School.
Harwich proved their training had all been worth while. Their first game was against the hosts Colne. Skipper Josh Taylor was the first to slip the ball past the Colne keeper.
Sixth Form Media Students have just spent the weekend filming for the Colchester Film Festival 48 Hour challenge! They had just 48 hours to create, film and edit a short film for the chance to win some amazing prizes at this years Colchester Film Festival.
Skysports ambassador Jeanette Kwakye, a Great Britain Beijing Olympic finalist visited the Harwich and Dovercourt High School to inspire the next generation. Jeanette’s career spans nearly 15 years. Within this time she has been Britain’s fastest female athlete over 60m, 100m and 200m. Within the skysports living for sport workshop, she spoke with the High Schools ‘Sports Personalities’ of 2012. Her story emphasised mental toughness, determination, people skills, knowledge and ways to help break barriers.
