At the recent Essex Teacher Awards Sarah Cross was awarded Secondary School Teacher of the Year.
Sarah Cross is an English Teacher at HDHS.
Sarah Cross joined Harwich and Dovercourt High School as an English teacher in 2012 having trained through the North East Essex Teacher Training Programme.
Sarah’s career progressed relatively quickly with leadership responsibilities for teaching and learning both within English and whole-school. In 2016 she coached a group of Year 11 HDHS students in public speaking. The students were successful in reaching the national finals of the Rotary Youth Speaks competition. In 2017 Sarah was successfully accredited as a Lead Practitioner. She is an inspirational teacher, coach, mentor, leader, trainer and colleague who ensures the students are at the heart of every aspect of her work.
