The Big Bang Fair Eastern was for secondary school students aged 11-18 years and aimed to inspire our future scientists and engineers at a regional and local level.
Students were encouraged to take these subjects, as well as celebrating young people’s achievements in science and engineering. There were so many events from shows that amazed, to workshops where students got hands-on with engineering and opportunities to talk with scientists and engineers, face to face.
Alfie Benson and Abbie Pruden beat 90 other secondary schools at the Big Bang Eastern STEM awards to claim first prize in the STEM Category. They had to present their work to a series of judges across the day and their articulation of their work and indeed their dreams for their future careers was something truly inspiring. It was great to see them grow in confidence across the day.
First prize, certificate, medals and £250. They are delighted.
