Helicopter Landing

Helicopter Landing
June 28, 2017 hdhsadmin

The Essex and Herts Air Ambulance was chosen by the students to become the Windsor Learning Community’s chosen charity and to celebrate the relationship between the two the Air Ambulance logo was incorporated into the blue Windsor sail of the school badge.
We have successfully raised well over £1000 through various sponsored events and have visited the station on a number of occasions, showing some of our students just where their money goes and how it is spent.

2017 celebrates 20 years of saving lives in Essex and on Sunday 25th June the charity’s first purchased helicopter was unveiled.

This week the helicopter has been flying on a celebration tour and will of landed in 20 different places by the end of the week.

As a thank you for the efforts of the Windsor Community, our school was chosen for a landing yesterday

Around 100 students, staff, family members including a number of younger brothers and sisters came out to enjoy the event.
Once the Helicopter landed everyone had the opportunity to get up close, have pictures and speak to the paramedics and pilot who were on board.
Volunteers form the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were present selling merchandise and the generosity of the public was evident with them making a donation to go past the safety barriers and have a closer look.
The event was a huge success and showed the close relationship which has been built with the Windsor Community over the last few years.
