Harwich and Dovercourt Year 8 team travelled to Colne for the first round of the schools ESFA national cup.
The game started at a frantic pace with Colne scoring within 2 minutes. The next attack Alex Ashworth broke the offside trap and squared it to Charlie Wotton who equalised. Harwich’s defensive tried to stay strong and withstand the pressure with Harvey Bennett and Kyle Elmer making last ditch challenges. The score at half time was 2-1.
Harwich started the second half …strongly with Alex missing a one on one. Colne struck again to take the score out to 3-1. Harrison Hunt then made a run into the box and got fouled. Charlie took the penalty which was saved by the keeper who released straight down the other end for Colne to score. Harwich did have further chances in Tom Newland, Alex Ashowrth and Cameron Brunsden but Colne stood strong.
