Hair Salon TA/Instructor

We are currently recruiting a TA/Instructor for a forward thinking secondary school. You will have previous experience working in a salon. Qualification must state Level 2 hairdressing as a minimum.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the day to day running of the hair salon allowing young people to achieve VRQ and NVQ Level 2 qualifications in Hairdressing

Year 10 GCSE Art Workshop

A Workshop with local Artist Nicola Burrell took place on Tuesday 23rd June for a selection of Year 10 GCSE Art Gifted & Talented.
Nicola is a renowned sculptor who has been commissioned to work on a range of art based projects around Essex, as well as with schools. She has also produced work for exhibitions whilst on residencies abroad. She specialises in a variety of materials including, concrete, steel, paper, and cardboard.
Students had the fantastic opportunity to work with Nicola to explore and create cardboard sculptures based on the theme of “Natural Forms”. Students spent the day working on their sculptures learning various techniques, skills and methods of manipulating and constructing cardboard to make their sculptures.

NEEEP Challenge Day

On Wednesday July 1st , fourteen Year 10 students from HDHS will attend a NEEEP Challenge Day at Essex University where they will work alongside 14 students from each of the 7 NEEEP schools. The aim of the day is to support the students to develop skills to achieve an A/A* in their English Speaking and Listening GCSE assessment. It will be an opportunity to develop life skills and work with students and teachers  from different schools.
