It is ‘Book Character Election day’ today in the library at break and lunch time.
Everyone that votes will be entered into a draw to win 25 Vivo Points.
Due to the exam season starting, Drew’s Kiosk will close after this week to ensure we can offer a consistent food service while not disrupting any exams taking place in the hall and gym.
To accommodate the extra traffic in the Lighthouse an extra till point will be in place at the Grab ’n’ Go service point for this period.
We hope to re-open Drew’s fully on Monday 22nd June.

There is a Year 11 Art Coursework session on Saturday 9th May (10am – 2pm) all Year 11’s welcome
On Friday 17 April year 10, 11 and 12 hairdressing students presented their skills to a packed audience of friends and family and local hair salons. The evening raised over £200 for the SMA
(Spinal Muscular Atrophy) charity – this years 6th form chosen charity.
The students presented a range of creative looks on the catwalk as part of an assessment which was judged by local hair salon owners on their technical skills.
Wedding – won by Courtney Gilbert
Avant garde – won by Esther Udowke
4 seasons – won by Claudia Mitchell for her stunning Ice Queen representation
The students all had to recreate a 1980’s hair style using authentic tools, products and equipment.
They firstly had to research the 1980’s, investigating key events and fashion trends.
The following students won the 1980’s categories;
6th form Gabby Gardner won
Year 11 – Jazmine Archer – Farrands
Year 10 – Claudia Mitchell
Jazmine Archer – Farrands won the coveted Best in Show award.
The audience were treated to a 1980’s music gig by ‘Neon’ who played some classic tracks such as Aha’s Take on Me and Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer.
The students teacher, Jo Gardiner said ‘I was so proud at the standard of work that the students demonstrated. A salon owner told me that they had stylists that weren’t producing as good work as some of our students!’

Year 11s have their GCSE English Language exam today. The English department wishes all the students the best of luck.
They have worked hard and it will pay off today.
The Foundation Group that baked cakes in aid of the Nepal Earthquake Appeal raised £54.00 in total.
