Year 9 students yesterday began writing the school’s Kindertransport presentation which will form part of the Harwich Festival on Wednesday 1st July. With support from script writer Mike Levy of Keystage Solutions, producer Lesley Ford and graphic designer Kate Molloy, whose time has all been funded by the Heritage Lottery, Year 9 pupils are producing an exhibition that will tell the tale of Harwich and Dovercourt’s part in the evacuation of 10,000 Jewish refugee children in 1938-39.
Students James Ashworth, Joe Crabb, Katie Fisher, Holly Hammond, Nicole Leggett Wones, Kaci Mark, Ebony Perkins, Sam Pickess, Elisha Rowland, Sydney Storer, Gabi Whigham and Taylor Zeghli have given up lunch times, after school and holidays to research the project and are excited to tell the story of their findings in music, drama, art and displays.
Tickets for the final production, which will take place on 1st July at 7pm in the school hall, will be available in June.
