Harwich and Dovercourt High School u16 hockey team, travelled away to Colne Community School.

Harwich proved their training had all been worth while. Their first game was against the hosts Colne. Skipper Josh Taylor was the first to slip the ball past the Colne keeper.

James Preston playing upfront soon followed suit – by half time the score was 2-0. Man of the match Emma Joslin increased the lead just before Colne retaliated, putting Hayden Smith and Demi Stamp in defence under pressure.

Taylor and Preston worked together to give Taylor his second, winning the game 4-1.

Harwich on a high then had to face Tendring Technology School, both teams demonstrated some really good hockey, Harwich had several chances on goal but couldn’t put the ball between the posts.

The game finished 0-0. Putting Harwich in a good position for the North Essex Essex Title. Players were. Josh Taylor, Cayce Hammond, Brad Williams, Emma Joslin, Demi Stamp, Kieran Bradwell, Hayden Smith, Jack Remon (GK) and James Preston.
