Alan Bennett’s hilarious and poignant play ‘The History Boys’ was brought to life for Sixth form students at the Wolsey Theatre in Ipswich on Tuesday evening. Studied as part of the A Level English Literature and Language course, ‘The History Boys’ production was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Students commented that seeing the play enabled them to better envisage the fluidity of Bennett’s time-shifting techniques as well as improve their understanding of the characters and adult themes.
It was a long evening but well worth the late return home. The production tours other UK towns for a few more weeks and each and every one of us would highly recommend a visit.
